Founded in 1996, the TAHOE HERITAGE FOUNDATION supports a variety of preservation, restoration and education projects and programs in the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Tahoe Heritage Foundation formed a public/private official non-profit 501(c)3 partnership with the USDA Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit to co-manage restoration projects and operate interpretive activities at the Tallac Historic Site (Pope-Baldwin Estates), adjacent to the southern shore of Lake Tahoe.

Up until 2017  Tahoe Heritage Foundation also partnered with LTBMU to manage the Taylor Creek Visitor Center programs gift shop.

While the historic Pope-Baldwin Estates are the flagship partnership of the Tahoe Heritage Foundation, over the years the Tahoe Heritage Foundation has formed partnerships with other public entities for specific projects.

Past partnerships include:
California Tahoe Conservancy
Tahoe/Bikal Institute
California State Parks
City of South Lake Tahoe
Generation Green
Lake Tahoe Historical Society
Valhalla Tahoe
