Founded in 1996, the TAHOE HERITAGE FOUNDATION supports a variety of preservation, restoration and education projects and programs in the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Tahoe Heritage Foundation formed a public/private partnership with the USDA Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit to manage restoration projects and interpretive activities at the Pope and Baldwin Estates  (two of three estates included in the Tallac Historic Site),  adjacent to the southern shore of Lake Tahoe. Up until 2017  Tahoe Heritage Foundation also partnered with LTBMU to manage the Taylor Creek Visitor Center programs and gift shop.

While the historic Pope and Baldwin Estates are the flagship partnership of the Tahoe Heritage Foundation, over the years the Tahoe Heritage Foundation has formed partnerships with other public entities for specific projects. Past partnerships include the California Tahoe Conservancy, the Tahoe/Bikal Institute, California State Parks and the City of South Lake Tahoe.
